Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 April 2026
Independent service notice: MeetClaw is an independent professional services company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with the OpenClaw project, its foundation, Peter Steinberger, OpenAI, or Anthropic.
1. About MeetClaw
MeetClaw ("we", "us", "our") provides professional setup, configuration, and hardening services for the open-source OpenClaw software on your own hardware or cloud infrastructure. We do not own, control, or maintain the OpenClaw project; OpenClaw is an independent open-source project distributed under the MIT License.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MeetClaw service at meetclaw.ai and any related professional services engagements. By engaging our services you agree to these Terms in full.
2. Scope of Service
MeetClaw's services include, but are not limited to:
- Installation of OpenClaw on your designated machine or cloud environment
- Configuration of supported messaging channel integrations (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal, and others)
- Security hardening: principle of least privilege, sandboxed service accounts, encrypted secret storage guidance
- Wiring of tools, models, and automations as specified in your chosen package
- Post-setup documentation and handover
MeetClaw does not provide: ongoing 24/7 infrastructure monitoring, incident response, data recovery, API key management after handover, or any guarantee of continued OpenClaw software compatibility with future third-party platform changes.
3. Open-Source Software Notice
OpenClaw is distributed under the MIT License. MeetClaw complies with the MIT License in all deployments and does not claim ownership of the OpenClaw codebase. The full MIT License text, copyright notice, and attribution for OpenClaw and other open-source components used in your deployment are available on our Open-Source Attributions page.
OpenClaw is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The warranty disclaimer in the MIT License applies to OpenClaw software itself and is preserved in all deployments we perform.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You agree that you, as the infrastructure owner, are and remain responsible for:
- The ongoing security, patching, and monitoring of your machine or cloud environment
- Rotating API keys, messaging tokens, and credentials after MeetClaw's setup session concludes
- Restricting access to your OpenClaw instance to authorised users only
- Configuring backups and disaster recovery for your data
- Complying with all applicable laws and third-party platform terms (see Section 7)
- Ensuring the legality of prompts, automations, and data flows you configure in OpenClaw
5. Credentials and Security During Setup
To perform installation and configuration, MeetClaw engineers may require temporary access to your environment via SSH, screen share, or similar. We operate on a strict need-to-know basis:
- Any credentials shared with us are used solely for the purpose of the agreed setup
- We do not retain, store, or log credentials beyond the active session
- You should revoke any temporary access credentials immediately after session completion
- We strongly recommend creating dedicated service accounts for the setup session and deleting them post-handover
For a full description of our security practices, see our Security & Data Handling page.
6. Payment and Refunds
Fees are agreed in writing (via proposal or invoice) prior to engagement. All fees are due as stated in your proposal. Unless otherwise agreed:
- Setup packages are non-refundable once delivery has commenced
- If MeetClaw is unable to complete delivery due to factors within our control, we will offer a rescheduled session or a proportional refund
- If delivery cannot be completed because your environment is inaccessible, incompatible, or in violation of these Terms, no refund obligation arises
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use MeetClaw's services to configure, deploy, or operate OpenClaw in ways that:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Violate the terms of service of any third-party platform (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Signal, OpenAI, Anthropic, or others)
- Enable bulk unsolicited messaging, spam, or scraping
- Circumvent security controls, authentication systems, or access restrictions
- Facilitate malware distribution, phishing, or fraud
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any party
Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate suspension or termination of service without refund. See our standalone Acceptable Use Policy for full details.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MeetClaw's total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
MeetClaw is not liable for: data loss or corruption; security breaches originating from your infrastructure, credentials, or third-party software; incompatibilities introduced by OpenClaw software updates or third-party API changes; or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
OpenClaw software is provided under the MIT License on an "as-is" basis. MeetClaw's hardening services reduce risk but cannot eliminate it; you remain responsible for your environment's security posture.
9. Intellectual Property
MeetClaw retains ownership of its own proprietary tooling, scripts, and methodologies. OpenClaw and its codebase remain under the MIT License held by its respective contributors. Any custom configurations, scripts, or automations created specifically for your deployment are yours upon full payment.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate a service engagement with written notice if the other party materially breaches these Terms and fails to remedy the breach within 14 days of written notice. MeetClaw may terminate immediately for violations of Section 7 (Acceptable Use).
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent site notice. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
